It's the lyrics to the song "Chak de India", from the movie of the same name. U must have heard them played on TV, radio, everywhere, ad nauseam.

As we were driving to our birthday dinner party, a huge 'bomb' exploded on the median strip and blinded us. My husband nearly crashed the car as he swerved in reaction/panic almost into a parked truck... I screamed.. It was at that point we knew India had won!

Dilliwalla - Thanks for enlightening me re the words - actually I really like the tune of that song!

Saw them Shashank on NDTV! Amazing! Also amazing the amount of prizes and money they are all getting...sort of makes me cringe when you think of how many people this could feed... lakhs of rupees and a house for each team member.

No need to cringe...I guess you should stop wearing your Levis and go for a Rs.200 jeans then as the money you will save can help a lot of good...

BTW you should also take into account the revenue they would have helped generate their respective governments by taxes on all endorsements, advertising deals, income tax etc...

the houses are given by the team sponsor, which is into housing business.

Fair enough! It does seem a bit out of proportion to me however, when the hockey team are whinging they get next to nothing....

Thats very true !! My heart goes to all those Hockey chaps..

Even though they are not worse off than our cricketers..still they do not get their due...our cricket team has been good in flashes, barring few occasions they never have achieved much...players like Sachin, Dravid get all the flak for no fault of theres whereas its a team sport and every members contribution counts...

Even the cricketing infrastructure is nothing compared to other countries taking to consideration that our board is richest in the world..But still cricket infra is far better than hockey..

But again I feel, that its all about public interest, if people follow a support and money follows it...not many care to actually watch a hockey match as compared to cricket...so obviously sponsors would go for cricket, where they can get the maximum eyeballs...
