Can any one recommend a 'Vedic' Astrologer in Delhi? Any one any references? Thanks

If you want a phone consultation or a report based on your birth details that would be emailed to you, you can check out www.astroyogi.com. They have "celebrity" astrologers, numerologists, tarot readers, etc. available, as well as an in-house panel of astrologers. There are a variety of different reports/services you can request and you provide your details and your question(s). I've gotten reports done by Deepak Kapoor twice and have been happy with the quality of his feedback. However, they do not do any face to face consultations, if that's what you're looking for.

the most famous living vedic astrologer, KN Rao, is in delhi. he does meet people, although he is busy man. his phone number and address are available on his yahoo group, there was an older one that was more or less taken over by another astrologer, so then KN Rao's followers started another one. in any case, you can search yahoo groups to get the info.

he only gives readings in person. no tarot is not in the same league as vedic astrology, granted you are talking about qualified vedic astrologer.

Does anyone know a good vedic astrology school in North India(e.g. Delhi)? I wish to take a short course.

I could relate my many experiences with Indian astrologers here. Quite amazing that such an antiquated system is still surviving. I found it helpful in determining the right stone to wear (if the right person is reading it), but in terms of predictions it is utterly useless, let alone in its psychology. Vedic astrology cannot compare to the depth of insight given by a good Western astrology reading.

I was a close friend to a famous astrologer who was visited a lot by Delhi politicians and wealthy people ( now deceased). He spoke to me a lot about his doubts in the system that he has practized during a life-time.

thanks for your response. I am studying western astrology on financial investment and the astrological analysis has been quite accurate so far. My interest to take a short course in vedic astrology is to understand the basic and learn by myself. In my own understanding, western astrology has done a lot of research on financial natal charts and prediction of world events to know the future trend. I do have doubts on vedic astrology but will try to find more before I get deeper into that subject. By the way, Astrology is not an easy subject to learn but I will try.

A way to start would be with Frawley's Astrology of the Seers

Advantage: Written by a Westerner in recognizable English. Disadvantage: Frawley's style is additive, like in his Ayurveda books, and not hermeneutically expanding understanding. But the latter is missing in most "Veda"-related books anyway.

But for a reference book and a discussion of details it is worth it.

Recently, I got to know about the books by David Frawley and also the online course on vedic astro by American Institute of Vedic Studies. I will go to india and find those books if they are available there. Thank you so much on the above site which I will definitely inquire on the recorded tapes.
