RadhaSoami ashram - Vyas - Punjab
Hi,
Does anyone know if one can stay in Radha Soami ashram for a month?
I am planning to take a break from work and would like to stay at this ashram as I have read a few books by them and they appeal to me.
Is there any cost involved? Is everyone welcome? Will I be too bored to stay? What are the facilities?
Any information will be more than welcome.
Thanks,
Sonu

Hello,
There is one Radhasoami Ashram which comes on the side of Tumkur Road, near Parle-G factory, Bangalore (your profile location says so).
My father is follower of that Ashram and to be frank I have not much impressed!
May be in a day or two I will get that Ashram's phone no.
Jay

Radhasoami's follow the path of Santmat. There are many other lesser known(by choice) schools which teach santmat.
There is one such organisation called "Know Thyself as Soul Foundation" in Girinagar in Bangalore. You can IM me if you want to get the contact info of this organisation.

A long line of women (mostly illterate) leading their men, sons, daughters, to the congregations, full support by government in granting extensive land at concessional rates (one rupee per acre or yard). An anti-hindu government trying to fracture hindus. There are many organizations like that, Swaminarayan is another. The government raids RSS-BJP institutions, pays salaries to madarsa teachers.

I dont know much about the working of Radhasoami enough to comment on whatever you mentioned about them. I just know about thier teachings.
The last perfect Guru in the Radhasoami sect was Baba Sawan Singh who left the earthly body in 1947. Somehow his children have still managed continue running his legacy for more than 60 years now like a family show.
Read one of the books written by Sawan Singhji and you would know this is coming from a God realised saint. If you want to know about Santmat which Radhasoami's Founder Jaimal Singhji (Guru of Sawan Singhji) taught, then find a Santmat center in your town. A search on google/yahoo would yield tonnes of results in Santmat.

Aupmanyu, you are free not to know about Santmat. Pick any path that appeals you.
Just a piece of advice to you, if you care.
Look for a living Guru and not one who left the earthly body long back. The definition of Good and Bad changes with time.
While you have the safety net of following a True Guru when you follow Shankara, the only problem is that the spritual practices which were easy to follow 1000 years back may not be easy to follow in the current times. So, tagging on to a old scripture leaves it open to our interpretation. We, mortals, equipped with a deceiving mind would just interpret everything in those holy scriptures in a way that suits us.
Beleive it, there are still true masters living in this earth even today. Pray to Shankara, pray him deep from your heart and he would lead you to a current living Guru. But then, it depends on whether you need a Guru. On a different note, it also depends on whether you deserve to have a Guru in this birth.
Har Har Mahadev.
Jai ho Shakar.

The political right in every country is basically the same. Uses populist, non-factual discourse for mobilization of masses, especially not so educated masses. And usual elements of that agenda are 1-ideological/religious mobilization (being irrational it is much easier than practical political programs) 2-overemphasizing various inner and outer enemies -again an irrational mechanism, 3-mystifying and glorifying history and so on. When I see this the "alarm" in the head rings immediately. Politics and spirituality and science/history should never mix, no good comes ot of that. Similar Threads
