Just met Dalai Lama in my hometown

I knew HH Dalai Lama was visting a business conference in my hometown (Leeds U.K) today. I had to go get 2 new tyres on my car so i said to Mrs KK "Just going to get my tyres changed & see if i can find the Dalai Lama" i wasn't expecting to since it was £290 for tickets into the conference,but i took my camera anyway & a silk scarf i was given in Lhasa.
I pulled up in a car park a bit away from the conference which was behind a big fence with police parked at regular intervals. I got out of my car & walked around the side of a small building,when i turned the corner to my surprise there were lot's of journalists with camera's & 2 mins later out walked the Dalai Lama & his entourage, i called out Dalai Lama & he walked upto me & bowed slightly so i could put my scarf on Him then Blessed it & handed it back to me. Here's a pic;

A friend of mine sat opposite him on a UK train. Ordinary, 2nd Class compartment and hardly any, if any, security. Those were the days!

Wow!!! What a great experience.

What a coincidence!!!

Just finished today a writing of one who met Dalai Lama- The famous Glob-trotter Bimal De... at the age of seventeen, he ran away from home, followed a Tibetan Lama and walked through Gangtok-Lasa-Kailash-Manas Sarovar in 1956. The book is 'Mahatirther Shesh Jatri' [English version - The Last Time I Saw Tibet by Penguin Books, Delhi]. China then just started blockage to Indian people in Tibet and he was in disguise of a 'Mouni Baba' [silent monk]. A thrilling experience depicting original Tibet, as he found at that time.

Later on he met Dalai Lama and visited Tibet again with official permission and.... disheartened.

An unputdownable book, must read on Tibet.

That's really terrific KK! "When the student is ready, the guru appears...." and all that.

When the DL is ready, KK appears!

But... what sort of event was this? Has the Dalai Lama joined the British Conservative Part?

Me & HHDL were just on the 6'o'clock news,showing me put the scarf on Him.Mrs KK recorded it.

I don't think they'll let Him join the Conservatives Nick, too much money from China at stake,the news article was saying that Leeds City Council didn't attend the meeting because the Chineses have chosen Leeds as the training place for their Olympic team & they were threatening to pull out of Leeds because of HHDL's visit.KK
