West Sikkim questions from 1st timer

Hi all,

I am new to the forum and have been travelling around Meghalaya for the past week. Now looking to spend Christmas in Darjeeling and Sikkim. I have several questions however.

1. I would like to spend a few days in West Sikkim. What will be the weather like? Very cold?

2. I plan to go from Darjeeling to Jorethang to Pelling and around. Can someone please suggest an itinerary for me? I am interested in the Khecheopalri lake, Yuksom, Tashiding. I am open to other suggestions. Any easy day treks during this period?

3. What are the transport options in West Sikkim? I am travelling alone so would like to do it as cheaply and efficient as possible.

I hope to get back to Kolkata by New Years Eve. Is it enough time? THere is still about a week til NYE.
