TRip to Pelling and Pema Yangtse
I am very new to this and looking for ideas. My husband and I will be travelling to Sikkim - Nov 17th arrival at 1 pm ish at Bagdogra and will be in that area until Nov 21st returning to NJP. Primarily we would like to see the monastries in Pema Yangtse. We really appreciate any suggestions/ answers. 1. I am of Indian origin and my husband is American so will he need a visa ? 2. Any hotel recommendations in that area and approx. cost?. 3. Do you think in those 4 days we ould sight see Pelling/ Pema yangtse and visit Darjelling. 5. Any itinerary recommendation
Thanks guys, we are really lost here and don't know what we should do |

While one may naturally feel that way sometimes, IndiaMike generally doesn't have a tradition of answering in this way, and it is not appreciated of new members like yourself to come on like that. It's hardly like you've been covering the subject a thousand times before, in which case you might simply refer to your previous threads.
Thanks, a moderator.

hi june6ar, and welcome to indiamike!
there have been quite a few people just recently who are planning trips to sikkim, and a few who arrived there this week, i believe. you might find my last post in this thread helpful as to costs, as well as the six or so most recent threads in the sikkim forum, to most of which i have responded. as for visas, i can't speak to whether your status has any effect on your husband's, and i don't know what's required of an indian national (or if you are one). however, typically, a visitor to sikkim must get a special permit, good for 15 days and renewable, in addition to a standard visa. you can obtain it in advance by requesting it when you apply for your visa. check the consulate's website for the current application requirements. you can also get it in india when you arrive, but i'd recommend getting it here and saving yourself the hassle or using precious vacation time for such administrative affairs and worrying whether you have the proper photos and the like. hope this helps.

Your Sikkim permit can be obtained in Darjeeling, but is 3 processes so put aside an afternoon
4 days is certainly possible if your ambitions are limited |
