| Trekking in North Sikkim Hi Everyone, I am planning a short trekking trip to North Sikkim. We are 2 people in all. We will be reaching Yuksom on Oct 3 and will be returning on Oct9. We will be doing Yuksom - Dzongri - GocheLa trek. This is my Itinerary- Day One Route: Yuksom to Tsoka, 14kms Day Two Route: Tsoka to Dzongri, 9kms Day Three Route: Dzongri to Samiti Lake, ~10kms Day Four Route: Samiti, Gochela, Kokchurong. 16kms Day 5/6 returning to Yuksom. Please note that this is the first time we will be doing proper trekking as previoulsy, I have been to Himachal and Uttarakhand, but not done proper trekking. We need information on how to get the eqipments and all, do we need to carry it from Delhi or we can rent them in Sikkim (what would the cost for 2 people etc.) I would request you to suggest/add anything to this and also we will not be taking any package. I am planning to reach Yuksom and then bargain for it. Also, if this trek is possible in 5/6 days. Please suggest if we should go to Gangtok first and then from there to Yuksom or directly to Yuksom, as I wont to be visiting any other places. I am only interested in this trek. I have time till Oct 9. Need your inputs. Sorry, forgot to mention, anyone want to join us is most welcome Thanks, Manish Last edited by rathee; Aug 13th, 2009 at 14:33.. |
