Travel to Lachung
Hi All,
I want to travel to Lachung in Nov-Dec. One Travel agent is offering me a pacakge of Rs. 20000 for 2 night stay including travel and all meals. I feel its bit expensive. Is it really worth to pay so much for Lachung visit? Awaiting ur responses. Thanks, - Manoj |

i think he is charging extra because nov-dec isnt the season when sikkim gets its maximum visitors. you could try "Nathu la travels" in Gangtok for a lower price. there are many travel agents in gangtok. it should be around 1200.

Just came back from a week long trip in Sikkim. I had a 3 day and 2 night trip to North with all meals and accomodation (based in Lachen and Lachung) for 14,000. We were 2 adults and 2 kids. Shared a double room. I booked in April and the agent was mentioning that the price has increased from when I booked.

@ManojK
The travel agent we went through charged Rs. 13300 for a exclusive 3 nights 4 days trip to Gurudongmar & Zero Point in a tata Sumo in Apr 2008...
I guess with the oil price hike.... they will charge 15K ... A very laid back and relaxed trip.... the 2 nights trip for Lachung-Lachen is quite hectic.. |

Yeh, it's way too much and quite a rip off. I've been working in Lachen for two months now and now things pretty well over here. I would say you should pay nothing more than Rs.12,000 , enven that is high but if you plan to go through a travel agent then you would have to cough up around that much. Also if you plan to go before the school vacation then it would really not be tourist season and would be cheaper.
