Travel to Darjeeling/Gangtok in May

Hello,

I plan to travel from 30th april afternoon (Bagdogra) and return on 5th April (bagdogra airport).

Please advise me an iternary that covers darjeeling, gangtok and the ride on toy train..

I plan to do the following

30th - go to gangtok night stay
1st - trip of gangtok local
2nd - trip from gangtok to darjeeling (till noon)
2nd noon and 3rd - darjeeling
4th morning darjeeling to NJP - toy train
4th night stay NJP
5th take the flight.

Pleas give suggestions on details of places to visit.

Wow.
Tour seems to be very short.
Njp to Gangtok 2500.00 for the car.(Sumo)
Local sight seeing 750 per van (4 heads are allowed in each van).
Gangtok to Darjeeling 2500.00 per car (Sumo)
Darj sight seeing 2200 per sumo
Darj to Njp dro[ 2200 per sumo

we dont want to miss the toy train..

Your Trip is very very short.
Gangtok : To Gangtok and Rest.----30th
Gangtok : Local Tour - Rumtek Monastry , Tibetology, Tashi view
point, Botanical garden, Hanuman Tak, Ganesh Tak and
Transfer to Darjeeling.----1st
Darjeeling : Tiger Hill(Sunrise), and local Tour including Gangamayia Park and rock gardens. ---2nd

Darjeeling : Rest.---3rd

Darj - Njp : Toy Train. ---4th

Njp to ??? : Back to Home.

Thanks for your reply. Since you suggest that trip is too short, if I drop Gangtok, can you help me with an iternary of places in and around darjeeling.

Buddy there are lots of places to visit in and around Darjeeling.
Hire a Jeep and visit Mirik, Makaibari Tea Estate, Karseong , Kalimpong etc if you have enough time. Dont forget to visit Tiger Hill (Sunrise). Also local tour including Batasia Loop, Gangamaiya Park , Rock Gardens, Zoo, Botanical Garden. Also do enquire about a programme of Light and Sound and dance in the evening which takes place in some park (maybe Gangamaiya Park).
Its very charming.

But do plan your visit to these places. You have to adjust your time accordingly after you reach there and talk with some local tour operator as well as local taxis how to do this trip as time is short. But do verify the Fare by asking both local Tour Operator and local jeeps.

and also where should be my starting point from baddogra be. should I go to darjeeling or go to Mirik first which looks nearer in map?

Nope,

Make Darjeeling as your base point. Plan all your visit from here. Mirik is just a one day tour. No need staying back there. Nothing much to see. Its the Lake and a monastry to visit out there. But the place is beautiful.

Sorry dont have much contacts in Darjeeling.
