Timing for trek to Goecha La

Hi all,

I am planning an approx 11-12 day trip up to Sikkim, most likely in November (it all depends when I can get time off work), and am trawling these wise pages intently.

I am very keen to go on the Goecha La trek as the centrepiece of this trip (I have done extensive altitude trekking before).

I just wanted to know (and I appreciate weather can be unpredictable) when is realistically the latest I should be looking to do this trekking for decent weather (don't mind cold. don't want freezing cold and driving snow...), visibility and access?

Is the 2nd half of November pushing it too late?

Last year it didn't snow till Feb. But second half of November would be fine though it would be a bit chilly. You will also have to take into consideration the short days, it will get dark by 4 or 4.30 latest
