Hello friends, am new at IM, trying to express my recent travel experience. It was late October 2016, we (me & my friend Dibyakesh) were making a short trip plan, maximum 2N-3Days. Also you can describe it as weekend trip to anywhere, plan almost ready without nay destination. Then suddenly my friend tagged me in FB post, which was for Temi, South Sikkim. There was a short write-up about Temi Tea garden homestay and its surrounding views. Then we started Goggling, but found only one accommodation which is Cherry Resort, but it was beyond our budget. Then we asked for the homestay contact from the FB poster, after lots of comments & like we got the contact number. So now our plan is 100% ready and we also ready to spend 2-3 days at Temi Tea Garden. Before my this trip I used to cross the tea garden when I was going to Namchi from Gangtok with my family in a family trip, from then there was a desire to spend a night here at Temi tea garden.
Finally we booked our Train tickets by agent (TAtkal), so now we have ticket, confirmed accommodation booking with pick-up from NJP. But my bad luck, demonetization declared and we starting to feelings like “Proletariat”, then I called the homestay & surprisingly he told to come us (AAJAYE HUM PURANA NOTE LENGE, KUCH CHINTA MAT KIJIYE). Again hats of you Sikkimese people.
We reached NJP by 15 minutes late, our driver Sahu Ji was waiting just outside the station, after a short introduction we started our journey to Temi from NJP. Distance around 120 kms from NJP to Temi, we reached after 4 hrs long journey with several stops. After reaching our host greeted us and take our luggage to our room. There was 2 double bedded rooms with all modern amenities, total six adults can stay easily. After freshen-up we were called for lunch, it was a simple veg meals with rice, roti, dal, potato fry and Chatni, simple but delicious. We got informed that we will served Momos at evening and chicken at dinner.
Then we scrolled at nearby tea garden, the homestay itself located in a fine location, surrounded by lush green tea garden, it was looking like a foreign spot due to full boom of cherry by surrounding area. We have taken number of shot with phone and digital camera. Then we visited nearby tea factory, with prior permission and with help of our host. After spending few time here we returned our homestay. At evening we made a plan to visit Ravangla in a day trip or sightseeing tour. Someone also can visit Namchi or can make Namchi sightseeing tour from Temi. I got informed about a new location (read offbeat location), which is Namthang. Then we asked our host to arrange a day trip to Namthang. After lots of gossip we gone to bed for early rising.
I love my India

Temi tea will soon command a premium as the Darjeeling gardens are on strike. This year's Second Flush hasn't been picked and will most probably be reduced to mulch when the gardens start working again.

Hi,

Can anyone share the contact of homestay in Temi Tea garden?
The cherry resort is way too costly for spending a couple of nights in the tea garden.
Only rules that matters are:What a man can do and what a man can not !!!!

Try Riddhimart - they do have an arrangement with a homestay at Temi. STDC also have a small bungalow, guess you can book it online.

Please do let me know how you go about with the bookings - it would be of immense help to future travelers.

In Temi - to the best of my knowledge. You may contact an agency called "Paradise Unleased", an agency based out of Siliguri. http://www.paradiseunleashed.com/contact.php

Heard they do bookings for this place, however, I have never used them and so cannot comment much.

Alternatively, just look up the STDC site.

@L1S1 - just discussed this with a friend. Seems Weekend Destinations offers Homestays at Temi. Have always found them to be extremely reliable. You may contact them regarding this - http://weekenddestinations.info/2011...from-siliguri/

Ciao, and happy travelling.
