snowfall in north sikkim in Nov
Hi,
will there be any snowfall in north sikkim around mid nov.... will love to see it I am planning a trip to gurudongmar lake in mid Nov (18th or 19th). Request your suggestion about the travel and permits... Please give me all the info you could put into..... Or tell me when is the best time to watch the snowfall in this region..... Hi Kumar,
been to North Sikkim last yr,I don't think u can reach Gurudangmar in mid nov,the one and only road leading to lake may get closed beyond Thangu. In oct last yr we had snow in Lachung,Yumthang and in Katao.But our guide told us from nov mid they dont take any tourist for Gurudangmar.So u may can go upto Lachen onlyThe permits will be obtain by ur guide only cause u cant travel North Sikkim alone as for security reason .To get the permit u need ur Voter ID card/Passport.The travel agent at Gangtok will do the rest,Here is few shots of last yr oct enroute to north sikkim and one with snow was shoot at katao ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks a ton for your info....... nice pics....I am planing to leave on 15th of nov from bangalore. If luck favours i will visit gurudongmar if not till Lachen As i cannot postpone or pre-plan the trip.... Got to live with this...... |

A Small piece of info which i forgot to ask you is, what will be the cost per person for a trip to yumthang & gurudongmar lake from gangtok. Could you please help me to know this.... thanks in advance..... |

U need to take a car from gangtok to g.lake,if u want to visit only gurudangmar,I think it will not cost more than 5k p/p.do some bergaining at gangtok u may have a gr8 deal cause it is more or less off season,at the time u want to visit.
