Sillery Gaon,Makhim,Zuluk in December

sorry cK...I missed your post.Thanks..you liked my report and images.but it is not possible for me at this moment to provide the distance between the places mentioned by you.but I can tell you approx time required between some of these places.
NJP to Sillery gaon approx 3hrs (depends on traffic jam in Kalimpong town).Sillery gaon to Aritar approx 2hrs.Aritar to Zuluk around 3.5 hrs(including time required for getting permit).Zuluk to Gangtok around 6hrs(provided you do not spend more than 1.5 hrs for sight seen)

Absolutely wonderful write-up and amazing snaps....Its really out of the world....Specially the colour change on the Kanchenjungha, the sunset and the Sillery gaon pictures....Its truely awesome....Though I have first thought of staying in Pedong (considering my 11 month kid)in our family trip during may 2012, mithun, Kaushikda and of course your writeup and pictures had pursuaded me to stay in Sillery... In fact Mithun had arranged everything with Dilipji...He seemed to be a very nice person...Thank you friends for all your heart touching support....

Can you please suggest what are the places we should see around in Sillery and Pedong during our 2N stay in Sillery...Do we have to book a car for whole day? Please consider we will be having 4 senior citizens and a 11 month kid.

The two places to visit around Sillery gaon are Ramitey view point and Damsung fort. I visited Ramitey but skipped Damsung due to shortage of time. I choose to walk the road to view point….. though it was accessible by car up to very near to view point. Amazing view of Teesta can be seen from the view point. With our five years old daughter with us we took around 35/40 minutes to reach there. Our driver told us that Damsung fort was not accessible by car and we need to walk around 20/25 minutes to reach there. Since our driver was not a very trust worthy person I can not confirm you the actual distance you may need to walk……. but in any case I think it will not be more than 20/25 minutes of walking.
I would recommend you that first day you just stroll around the village. The village is much more beautiful than what you have seen in pictures. Second day morning first visit damsung fort .After that you visit Ramitey view point. But hiring a car only for Ramitey will not be a feasible option. So arrange a car to visit Ramitey and other destination like Aritar lake or Reshikhola etc as per your choice. Alternatively you may do the same in third day if time permits. You don’t need to book a car for the whole day but the question is how much you have to pay for half day tour from Sillery Gaon…. from my experience I don’t think it will be much less than booking a car for whole day. You may discuss the matter with Dilipji and ask him to arrange a car for you. I feel it will be a better option for you.

For visit SILK Rute, I have contacted Mr. ... and he wrote me that " I have booked one room in SILARI GAON on 23/10/12 and in ZULUK on 24/10/12 both in EP plan (included fooding and lodging). I have also arranged a car for you from SILARI GAON to GANGTOK via ZULUK. You will get the car on 24/10/12 in SILARI GAON and it will take you to ZULUK on the same day and on the next day 25/10/12 it will take you to GANGTOK. I have also arranged for the side scene included in this package are Rameti View point in SILARI GAON, Ariter lake, Kupup lake, elephant lake, old & new baba mandir, changu lake, china border, highest golf course in the world,Jelip-la-pass, the historical Silk Root."
Could any body tell me at the time of Oct.2012 we shall find ice in JULUK or nearby ?
