Wonderful Sunset & Kupup Lake pictures!

A treat to eyes!
You have made not only our days but our years!
Happy New Year & Keep clicking!
After more than 6hrs of journey when we were about to reach Gangtok Dawa informed me that his car was not allowed inside Gangtok and he had to drop us at Baluakhan taxi stand. I had planned to search hotel after reaching NG marker area but I could do nothing then. Surprisingly the day before when I asked him if he could stay with us in Gangtok he readily agreed and didn’t tell me that his car was not allowed inside Gangtok. He vanished within a moment after dropping us at taxi stand.
From there began last phase of our tour. But that is another story.

This tour can be arranged through Sebastian Pradhan of Reshi eco resort, Gopal Pradhan or Dilip Tamang. All of them can arrange car to pick tourist from New Jalpaiguri station/Bagdogra and arrange stay at each of these places. Just like we stayed at Sillery Gaon in Dilipji’s resort as a guest of Gopalji. Personally I feel that Dilip Tamang is very well prepared to understand and cater the need of tourists willing to travel there. He is intelligent, practical and taking steps very carefully. And most importantly he is totally committed to tourism.

thanks kshil. I was lucky to get very clear weather during my trip.
Marshaltit , very nicely composed TL- excellent description and out of the world photographs - specially the sunset .. Unfortunately I have personally missed that sunset while I was there.
Sorry to know about your initial experience with the driver. Drivers plays the most important role in success of any trip...
Good to knew that you you had a great experience in Sillery ... I had never felt like outsider... Dilip Tamang is one of the excellent persons I met in my whole trip...
Sorry to hear about your experience with Kanchenjunga Mirror.. I never read a great review of this place. In Shanti Kunj the cottages are good but one of the room(In which we stayed, the closest from view point) was excellent ... Our parents stayed in the cottage and they loved the ambiance.. The only problem was food was not upto the mark... Happy that you loved it.
Dzuluk , I had very bad experience. And good to know that they are atleast aware of the feedback.. Its good for them as well as for the tourists as well. Gopalji is not a bad person - very energetic , and very soft-spoken, but I didn't find him as simple as Dilip Tamang. I have always missed the simplicity of Sillery in everywhere else specially Zuluk.
I loved your photos... please post a few more if you have...
Wish u a very very happy new year.

I completely agree with your opinion.Truly food was not that good in Shantikunj but it was manageable for me.I was happy with their service and behavior and so didn't give much importance on it.Also, this circuit is new and options are very limited for tourists and so I focused only on the the major negatives which may create trouble for future travelers. Regarding other matters too my opinion doesn't differ much from you but I choose not to express it directly. I felt that my description of the incidents and interaction with people would be enough for readers to understand the situation.

Silk Route
Its been a very composed travelogue, marshaltit!
Special thanks!

& Amazing Images!

Could you please arrange the distance of the route (point to point) from Kalimpong to Gangtok via Zuluk, with Sillerygaon, Ramitey View Point, Teenchuley View Point, Damsang Fort Ruins etc?
Preciously, me & my other two office colleague are going to that direction in April, 2012, with family, including kids (with my 3 & half year old twin kids).
Our expected itinerary as confirmed from our tour operator after booking: -
04/4 = Darjeeling Mail
05/4 = NJP to Loleygon
06/4 = Loleygaon to Rishop
07/4 = Rishop
08/4 = Rishop to Ariter (via Pedong & Sillerygaon)
09/4 = Ariter to Zuluk (with Mankhim)
10/4 = Zuluk to Gangtok (via Gnathang Valley)
11/4 = Gangtok (Local with Rumtek)
12/4 = Gangtok to NJP
13/4 = Home
Your inputs will surely help us in the tour!
Most importantly, please start the story of Gangtok!

Special thanks!
