Thumbs up Hi

Clear sky, sunny day, chilly night till last week, don’t know the current condition but hopefully same. Rain is unusual during this part of the year.
Don’t forget to keep enough woolens and enjoy………..

Day1:Bagdogra to Kalimpong n nite stay
Day2:Kalimpong site scenes n off to Gangtok n nite stay
Day3:In Gangtok nite stay
Day4:Off to Darjeeling nite stay
Day5:In Darjeeling nite stay

Day7arjeeling to Bagdogra

Any suggestions/precautions..?

Please let me know.

Thumbs up Hi,

I’ll suggest you to skip Kalimpong this time. You know, these areas (Darjeeling / Gangtok / Kalimpong) require some more time. Go to Gangtok directly and come to Darjeeling and then back. Else you will not be able to enjoy Gangtok / Kalimpong and the local tours. So better you leave kalimpong – Lava – Loleygaon area for the next trip.

And yeah, you can expect heavy rain in that area and road block due to rainfall is not very uncommon.

Raincoat !!!!
Ha ha ha….. well, in my experience, the timing is not perfect for hills. Specially eastern Himalaya. And it is your luck if you can enjoy Kanchenjungha during sunrise. But if you have no other choice well, you have to compromise.

Don’t reserve any small car like Maruti or Omni van for the hilly roads during this time. And plz don’t force any driver for any particular trip. They know the road condition better than you and let them decide the rout and all. And beware of leaches in Sikkim. Hanuman Top, Ganesh Top etc. Gangtok and Darjeeling is big town and it will not be absolutely dull during rainy season but the places like Kalimpong and all where natural beauty is the attraction may not be very interesting if the sky is clouded.

Hope you will enjoy your trip. Wish you bright and sunny days.

Rite!!!!

No, permit is not required for you.
But if you are planning to visit Nathu la it is required. But your travel agent will manage that. Contact any agent as soon as you reach Gangtok for the next day (or the earliest day) trip to Nathula, Baba Mandir and Tsmgo Lake.

Rain during May

All:

Can you please help me out?? I'm planning my honeymoon to kalimpong-Gangtok-lachung (maybe not in that order) during may, but wanted to know if the trip will get messed up by rain?
Will there be landslides due to rain during may in any of these places?
Please let me know asap

Thanks Robin!
if so, how would you recommend May for a white water rafting or a short (1-day) trek? Are these available from any of the places ive mentioned?

There are 2 best trek here i.e, Djongri and Goechala Trek. But is a 12 days trek.
I think there maybe some short trek from Yuksom. I am sure there's one short trek to Rabdangtse Ruins (previous capital of Sikkim). and this place is too good.

But for how many days is your tour ????

Need more info on this short hike to Rabdangtse Ruins.
Water rafting is fine at this time.

Good Luck
