SIKKIM TRIP (EAST+NORTH) Dec'12>>>>NEED SUGGESTION

we are total 15 people planning to go East Sikkim and North Sikkim on last week of December.

ITINERARY--

21st December: NJP(at 6 a.m) transfer to PEDONG, sightseeing at pedong. Night stay at Pedong //or// Direct transfer to ZULUK from NJP, Overnight halt at Zuluk

22nd December: At early morning transfer to Zuluk and then go for sightseeing upto new bab mandir, Overnight halt at Zuluk

23rd December: At morning will go to see sunrise then transfer to Gangtok from Zuluk, Overnight halt at Gangtok

23rd December: Morning start for Lachen from Gangtok, Overnight halt at Lachen

24th December: Early morning start for Gurudongmar, Chopta Valley, Thangu excurion then go for Lachung, Overnight at Hotel at Lachung.

25th December: Early morning start for Yumthang, Zero point, Katao excursion. After lunch start for Gangtok, Overnight at hotel in Gangtok

26th December: Afternoon start for NJP from Gangtok,

Questions-
1.Now first of all tell me is the plan ok?
2.If i started for Zuluk from Pedong at early morning(2nd day) and go for sightseeing..will there be any problem?
3. Suggest a best rout.
4.There are three senior citizens(70years,72 years,75years) all are Alive and Kicking and one child of one year. Will there be any problem on that trip?Please advice
5. What will be additional advantage if we add Darjeeling(27th December) in our trip?

Hey, I am also going there from 08 Dec to 16 Dec.We will most probably visiting to Gangtok, Gurdongmar Lake and Darjeeling.

Now Coming to your questions, I dont have much knowledge about other places except for Gurudongmar lake. In Last week of December, Lake might be frozen. Also, the lake is 17100 ft above sea level. Hence, going there with senior Citizens is not recommanded. I might be wrong but lets wait for other fellows reply.

not so......very hectic for seniors

no need to do it.............just reach Zuluk at noon, have lunch there and enjoy evening walk around zuluk or till to helipad and enjoy the beautiful sunrise

route you mentioned is good enough

I think so............better to think thrice before finalized your team/trip to mentioned places

obviously..............after all it "Queen of Hills"

no need to go on 22 Dec till to Baba Mandir.............it'll come on the way while move to Gangtok next day

actually at the very first i was also thinking about that rout as you mentioned from zuluk to gangtok, but i don't know what will be the snow condition then so plan to go gangtok through rangpo. is it ok??
if you have contact of car booking at siliguri or gangtok and hotel booking no please share it!

if really determined to go upto Baba Mandir (Old) in this trip with your mentioned team members, then obviously you can reach Gangtok via this route ................ Baba Mandir is the highest altitude in this route & then downwards till to Gangtok

Gurudongmar lake with Sr. Citizens are not recommended. They will face breathing problem there at that time.

For Gangtok Hotel I stayed at Hotel Lungta. Its near MG Road. Good Rooms with good service. U can try on this No. - 03592-204970.

if you want, I can give you no of a Nepali Boy, [I called him as Brother & he used to call me as Didi. He is a very nice Boy] who drives his car locally in & around Gangtok. I don't know whether now-a-days he drives the car to Baba Mandir or North Sikkim not. but You can check with him.
