Sikkim treks for 4 to 5 days

We plan on going up to the Sikkim region in late March. Does anyone have any recommendations for treks that are about 4 to 5 days in length?

I don't know whether that route will be free from snow in late march.
Since u r going in the flower season, u can give Hiley-Varsey a try.

Thumbs up

go to Varsey. But remember it is a 4 km trek and takes only 1.5 hours, but Varsey is beautiful in the flower season with Rhododendrons in full bloom

Just noticed snow in Darjeeling - did Sikkim get snow? We were thinking about our trip tonight and wondered whether or not we would be able to go to some of these areas because of snow. We will go to the Sikkim tourist place here in New Delhi this weekend and visit with them - and let everyone know what the scoop is there. We like hiking, and would like to do some long hikes - time is our issue. We only have about 5 days total. We assumed we would need a day or two for altitude. ??? Those that have been there, what do you think? Do we need extra time in Gangtok?

Sikkim will definitely get snow, in the upper reaches. I have conversation yesterday and came to knew the Varsey, NathuLa-Tsongmo, and North Sikkim recieved fresh snowfall.

You will not find any snow in Gangtok.

If you have five days, visit NathuLa-Tsongmo and North Sikkim (Lachung-Yumthang) circuit from Gangtok.

regards,

Bhaswaran

There are places around Varsey, where it is possible to do extended trekking. Places like Ribdhi ... then you can venture into Gorkey in WB and explore the adjoining places.

I would agree and 100% recommend you to visit Nathula and Tsomgo lake.

See some of the pics from my Sikkim's visit:

sikkim is only about 1.5 km above sea level, you don't need to acclimatise until at least 2.5 or so.

certainly i didn't have a problem in darjeeling which is at 2 km. maybe hiking is a bit harder on the lungs but that's about it.
