Hello Everybody,

Need help from you all..

I am going to Sikkim in mid June for 8 days. Got this plan from one agent, pls check and tell me if agent is covering all places and also if the cost is OK.

My guess is 20K is inclusive of the other costs that you have mentioned. Does this include accommodations and food?

I also assume that 20K is for one person & how many people are traveling?

yes rajdesh,

20K includes accommodation, travel & sight scenes.

2 ppl are going (me and my husband). I have also asked hotel names where agent is going to accommodate so as to check if hotels are worth staying.

Hello Sonal,

I don't know the charge of NJP to Pelling but from NJP to Gangtok it takes approx RS. 1200/car. You can even share vehicle with others if you want. In that it will be quite cheaper.

Don't have any information about Pelling or Versey but for North Sikkim normally the fooding and lodging are included within package. So contact your tour operator immediately if he didn't tell you about these things.

So the total cost is 40K. As Arin said, confirm with ur operator abt food in N.Sikkim. Try to include Tsomgo lake & Nathula pass in Gangtok in your trip & also 20K is a bit too much, especially when mid June is not peak season.

Nathula Pass is probably closed for visitors...confirm it whenever you reach Gangtok.

Radjesh is right, u should visit Tsongmo lake and Babamandir. Both are wonderful places. But in this season u will find some rain...so take all necessary things with you...

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I will contact to "Prabir sen" and get further info. I wanted to see nathula pass guess will have to skip it till my next trip

If you are planning for an exclusive tour then its fine.
Otherwise 20k is too much.

Also i would advise you to start your tour with North Sikkim and end your tour with Pelling.

20k is exclusive, though i am ready for share basis travel also. i contacted one more travel agent, he has also come up with 20K plan inclusive of accommodation, travel. For north sikkim, he has included breakfast, lunch & dinner.

pls hv a look at plan he gave me, shall i go ahead with this plan?

14th june : Day 1 : New Jalpaiguri-pelling by surface.
On arrival at New Jalpaigurit, we depart for pelling by surface. West Sikkim commands a panoramic view of the Khangchendzonga range and the surrounding countryside dotted with monasteries and hamlets. Overnight atPelling . (exclusive transportation)

15th June: Day 2 : Local tour of Pelling , RIMBI FALLS , RIMBI ROCK GARDEN , KHECHOPALRI LAKE ,
KHANCHENDZONGA FALLS. After a lunch break visit PEMAYANGTSE MONASTRY & RABDENTSE PALACE RUINS. Overnight at PELLING.(sharing transportation)

16 th June: Day 3 :Approx. 160kms, 7 hours.
Morning after breakfast you depart for Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. via rabongla/ temi tea/sandrupse monestry . (lunch enrout)Overnight at Gangtok. (exclusive transportation)


17th June: Day 4 : Tsongo Lake excursion with extension to Nathula pass. Excursion to Tsongo Lake at 12,400 ft through the Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary. This is followed by a tour of Nathula pass on the Indo-China border and peep into China! Packed lunch will be served on this excursion. Overnight at Gangtok. .(sharing transportation)

18th june : Day 5 : Gangtok to Lachung. 6 hrs drive. 125 kms.
At 10 am, depart for the wilderness of North Sikkim. A 6-hour, 125 kms drive. The fascinating jeep safari takes you across numerous bridges over fast flowing streams and cascading waterfalls. Overnight at a mountain lodge in Lachung. .(sharing transportation)

19 th June: Day 6 : Yumthang valley: 12,000ft - your tryst with destiny.
Photographs of the natural scenes of Switzerland & Yumthang valley look so similar that it is difficult to distinguish between them. The 1-1/2 hrs. journey from Lachung to Yumthang is one of our favourite Himalayan journeys with amazing variety of flora and landscape - an unending visual treat. Lachung to Gangtok. 6 hrs drive. leave for Gangtok. Lunch enroute. On the way, clear weather permitting, you get to see the mighty Khangchendzonga range from Singhik. 20th June: Day 7: local side seen rumtek monesry (10 points) NIGHT STAY AT GANGTOK.(exclusive transportation)


21 th june : Day 8 :.
Bid goodbye to this sleepy town and the Himalayas. Proceed towards the plains to NJP. The picturesque road journey runs parallel to the emerald green waters of the Teesta river. There are places where you want to stop the bus and rush to touch the water to bid farewell to a beautiful land!

Ask for a night stay in Lachen and a visit to Gurudongmar lake, dnt miss it. Mid June is not peak season, so that guy needs tourists, negotitate hard. 20K is still high.

Thanks a ton Radjesh for your tip. Now my travel agent has included Lachen stay & Gurudongmar lake visit.

Though he has not reduced in the travel cost. I also asked him that due to rains if any places are canceled, whether he would reduce the cost, and he is agreed to that except for the north Sikkim stay.

No, I planned my trip myself. Just got North Sikkim Package from Prabir Sen, did you get a package & quote from him ? I know Suman as I stayed in his hotel in Pelling, great guy...
