Sikkim in September

Hi, I've read on this site that Sikkim should be avoided in September but the LP says you can trek in September fine. Is this correct?
I am going with a friend in mid september to Darjeeling then Sikkim. Would like to do the Goecha La trek if possible. Will the rain have subsided at all then?

October is the perfect time to trek Dzongri & Gochala
