welcome to indiamike, nadesh.
i was in sikkim in the last two weeks of february and the road to tsomgo lake was impassable because of a snowstorm. so if you do plan to go north, you might wish to have a back-up plan. to me, west sikkim was paradise. the sunrises from pelling are breathtaking if the weather cooperates. i suggest you make the short hike up to sangha choeling from pelling center as well. it should take about an hour, so it's something that kids can manage as well. from there, you have views not just toward khachenjunga, but also to the south. a puppy followed me up to the top and was promptly adopted by the teacher at the small monastery/school at the top. i'd be curious whether he's still in residence. the frescoes and artifacts inside the temple are fascinating, and the teacher will likely be more than happy to show you around. *edit: forgot to mention what was to be the main point of my reply! it will be very cold in the early mornings, evenings, and at night in sikkim at that time of the year, so be sure that you bring war clothing. hotels generally have space heaters. my experience was that they didn't help much, and i slept fully clothed--with a hat! it's not unusual for the power to go out, so a small flashlight's a good idea, too.
