Sikkim in Feb/March

Hello
We are hoping to travel in Sikkim at the end of February or the first half of March. We would prefer a couple weeks in February. How is the weather? Are there problems getting around by car/bus? I welcome cooler temperatures but am concerned that our travel will be limited. How much or the state is accessable by road, any of it?

hi,

Most of Sikkim will be accesible in that time, if not otherwise, the roads are damaged or blocked by snow (in some particular regions like the North Sikkim or Tsongmo Lake region). The climate with be cool. Normal bus and jeeps ply in plently in Sikkim roads. So, that will not be a problem.

Gangtok will be beautiful, not really hot but bright and sunny. Further north will be cold! I was up there at the end of Feb and I was very glad that I had a down coat, gloves and a hat. We wanted to go hiking in Yumtang but there had been an avilanch nad the road was closed. Also it was snowing at Tsongmo Lake. Sikkim is incredibly beautiful and the people there are very friendly.
