Sikkim Honeymoon in end of May 2010 - Itinerary Confirmation

I have following itenary offered to me.

Day 1: Mumbai to Bagdogra Arrival - Journey to Darjeeling - Night halt
Day 2: Darjeeling Sight seeing - Night Halt
Day 3: Sun Rise at Tiger Hills - Rest - Night Halt
Day 4: Depart to Peling - Independent Sightseeing/rest - Night Halt
Day 5: Peling Sight Seeing - Night Halt
Day 6: Depart to Gangtok - Independent Sightseeing/rest - Night Halt
Day 7: Depart to Yumthang through Zonga Jeep - Independent Sightseeing/Rest - Night Halt
Day 8: Sight seeing of Lachung-Back to Yumthang - Night Halt
Day 9: Depart to Gangtok through Zonga Jeep - Night Halt
Day10: Depart for chhangu lake, Babadham, Nathu La(at own cost)- Back for Night Halt at Gangtok
Day11: Depart for Mumbai

Hotels/Properties:
Darjeeling: Hotel Sinclair/Sterling Resort(both claimed to be 3 star)
Peling: Hotel Chaminda(3 star)
Gangtok: Hotel Himalaya Height/Sidlon(3 start again)
Yumthang: Modern Residency(3 star)

Cost/Rate: Including Airfare from Mumbai - 50,000 INR for a couple(including all possible food)
Whole journey in 2x2 Non AC Minibus with other travellers

I am starting on May 21, 2010. Hence is it too late ? Doesnt have a choice since we are getting married on 17th May.

Any danger of Monsoon hurting our journey, since its may end ?

you can skip drajeeling, due to political turmoil, frequent strike, crowdy place.

You can add rinchinpong(west sikkim).Its a nice place to roam around and leisure walks. ravangla(south sikkim) is also a good place.

If you want more adventure then you can add lachen, thangu, chopta valley and gurudogmar lake in north sikkim. But this may be too much in honeymoon Lol.

Weather will be cloudy most of the time. and occasional rain is not infrequent. but overall its romantic atmosphere. Sikkim is also known as cloud heaven so enjoy that.

rest itinerary seems fine.

well i remmber distinctly around 25/26th may 2009, there was aila cyclone in bay of bengal. darjeeling and sikkim was badly affected by land slides. you could be lucky, if mansoon is delayed by few days this time .

Hiten your plan is very hectic,specially for honeymoon couple.
I also support the decision of skipping Darjeling due to reasons mentioned.
Also remember none of the places you have mentioned you will get snow at that time. For snow you will have to go to Gurudongmar lake ( 18000 ft). It is in North sikkim plan with Youmgthang.
Generally 3night-4days trip from Gangtok & back is better for the trip which covers Gangtok--->Lachen--->Gurudongmarlake----->lachen------>lachung----->Youmthang----->back to GANGTOK.
One more thing it is very tideous tour. So, immediately after returning from that point you can't go to Nathula trip next morning & also permit abtaining is necessary ( for that you need to carry photo identity card & passport size photo 8copies).

Peling,Ringchengpong is also very nice place but remember Bagdogra to Peling more than 6hrs journey by owned car & same from Peling to Gangtok.

lachen-gurudogmar lake journey in honeymoon is bit tiring and exhaustive.

you can do only if u like adventure trips and raw journeys.
In this places accommodation is basic. No luxury.
Still if you want, you can do it.

As Hiten even i am planning to go to Sikkim for Honeymoon this May.
I have got the following itinary from one of the tour packages.
Darjeeling 02 Nights / Pelling 02 Nights / Kalimpong 02 Night / Gangtok 02 Nights.
Can anybody please guide me?
