Sikkim and Assam - which first?

Hi-

I'm planning on a three month trip to Darjeeling, Sikkim and Assam for March, April and May of next year. Weather-wise, would it be better to start in Assam(March), then go towards Darlj and Sikkim(April,May) at the end or visa-versa?

Thanks for the help!

Hello!
I will advice to take the programme in the following way:

Assam: Cannot see the beauty of Kaziranga (one-horned Indian Rhinos) in April end or May as National Park is closed.

To start youtr tour you should start:

Route:1
Guwahati-KazirangaN.P-Guwahati-Darjeeling-Pelling-Gangtok-NJP/IXB (12N/13Days) leisure tour

Route:2
Guwahati-KazirangaN.P-Guwahati-Darjeeling-Versey(Rhododendron Sanctuary)-Pelling-Ravangla (Mainam Short Trek)-Gangtok-Martam-NJP/IXB

IXB-Bagdogra Airport

Best Of luck

Red face End it bfore before may

You better make all your reservations post may 15th in advance. This is the time when school vacations begin and 100s of bengalis no.. thousands .. no millions of them swarm out of calcutta and whereabouts in all directions occupying buses, trains, lodges, hotels...

Particularily to surrounding darjeeling, sikkim Assam Arunachal areas.

They are like schools of bangda machhi netted easily by nepali touts. B'coz of the easy pickings, you will find travel agents have little interest in choosy discerning tourists.... In places like Gangtok you will probably find women and children on the streets as late as 1am walking from lodge to lodge searching for a place to stay.
