Well if you are talking about North Sikkim in Jan, then I must say it would be brutally cold enough to freeze you...ha ha !
The temperature will be under "ZERO" coz it will be snowy new year there !

Dont worry. Just dont forget to carry a good quality Windcheater.
woolen garments are not that useful. Its good inside but you got to stop the biting cold wind. For that you always have to have a good Windcheater. or a good feather jacket or best is a hollowfill jacket for extreme cold....!!

always wear a Gloves (leather one is good) and dont forget to carry sunglasses. This is to avoid snow reflection and blindness.
Always carry very common medicines...

i think these are important...of them all.
Is it really necessary to carry a sunglasses?? Because I have spectacles .
-----What should I do in this case??

There could be harsh sunlight up there -so its always better to carry sunglasses..The glare can hurt your eyes, I believe . I lost mine though and I didnt have one ..but I suggest that you carry one ..use it when reqd

Atanu,

If you are having a Photochromatic Spec then its Ok !
All i mean is a Glass with a Black shade or Dark shade to avoid snow blindness. Coz the sun reflection may damage your eyes....

If its possible, then Try to make one Photochromatic glass with your power atonce. Its just for your safety. Hey Buddy why dont you start wearing a photochromatic Glass from now on....cheers !

If you can avoid those reflections on a clear sky day then its ok...otherwise not. But I would advise you to take a Dark Glass or a Photo....Glass. Even I used one.

Dont get upset buddy....theres always a way out....!!!

Good Luck !
