seek 2007 sikkim pre-losar chaams info
greetings,
i am trying to nail down the dates for losar in sikkim for '07. the sikkim govt website states that the date is 2/18/07. various travel resources state that the festivities, including chaams (masked dances at tibetan buddhist monasteries) take place 2 days beforehand. i'd like to plan to be in gangtok or rumtek for the festivities, but there seems to be conflicting info at various sites about when the festivities begina dnend and what they consist of. any ideas how i can nail this down and make the most of my visit for this celebration? This (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Losar) website says that the main celebrations are on the first three days (18th, 19th & 20th) but they are preceded by something called 'Vajrakilaya' so maybe this is when the chaams happen.

masked chaams - ritual dances at rumtek 2/15-2/16
i got the info from rumtek directly. the chaams dances are 2/15 and 2/16; they suggested i come 2/16, when the dances continue all day. losar is 2/18.
