recommended book on sikkim

hello to the sikkim-bound:

imagine my delight to arrive home to find in my mailbox a book on sikkim that i have absolutely no recollection of having ordered!

i've skimmed it and found the photos breath-taking, the information useable, and the essays to cover a broad range of interesting topics, including the history of sikkim; snow leopards (!); people; monsateries; ceremonial dances; gangtok (in depth); and trekking. sikkim seems to be given so little treatment in the most popular travel guides. this is precisely the sort of in-depth look that i'd sought (and then apparently forgotten i'd sought!) but it's the stunning photos that really bring sikkim alive. can't wait to see it! (but i actually thought red pandas were in the BEAR family!)

the book is titled "sikkim: a traveller's guide", photgraphs and essays by sujoy das and text by arundhati ray.
