Ravangla and Pelling

Hi All,

I am visiting Sikkim in 2nd week of November this year. In first 5 days, I am planning to do North Sikkim and Nathula trips. On 6th day, we are planning to go on Gangtok local sight seeing. On 7th and 8th day, we plan to go to Ravangla and Pelling.

I need below information about Ravangla and Pelling:
(1) After completing day long local trip of Gangtok, is it possible to go to Ravangla? How for is Ravangla from Gangtok? What options are available to go to Ravangla from Gangtok in the evening?
(2) Pl. advice about good hotel to stay in Ravangla.
(3) After day trip to places nearby Ravangla, we plan to travel to Pelling in the evening. Do we get transportation to move to Pelling from Ravangla in the evening time?
(4) Staying options in Pelling

Thanks,
Shashidhar

Giving my replies in bold within your questions. Two pieces of advice in short - a. do not travel in Sikkim at night. b. do not stay in a cheapo hotel in Ravangla in the town area.

Theoritically yes but practically no. Don't travel in Sikkim in the evening. You might find yourself with the vehicle in the gorge down below
(2) Pl. advice about good hotel to stay in Ravangla.
Choose a good resort. Babumoshai is one. There are a few others. Don't stay in the cheapo hotels in the town. Because the town is just a little dirty town. It has got nothing.

Same answer as one. Do not travel in Sikkim at night.
(4) Staying options in Pelling
As per last count, there are some 80 hotels in Pelling. The number would definitely have gone up since then.

Thanks
