Planning Honeymoon in Sikkim in July
Hi,
I am planning my honeymoon in month of July ( Starting on 6th July probably). I would like to go for 6-8 days trip. Please suggest a Trip plan and also appro. cost. I would like to cover best part of Sikkim and may skip Darjeeling if needed. I have inquired Travelmartindia for a package that covers Gangtok(2 nights)- Kalimpong(1night) - Darjeeling ( 2Night). Please advise whether to take Travel agent or plan myself. Also how will be weather in Sikkim in July. I am looking forward for youe help and suggestions. Kapil |

hi kaps,
Sikkim's a gr8 place, just returned frm there. think u can spend 3 days in North Sikkim & 3 days in Gangtok. dunno much abt the weather in july, when we were in Pelling it was raining 3-4 hrs for 2 days. For North Sikkim u have to go only thru a travel agent, independent travel is not permitted in North Sikkim & the package for 3D/2N costs 3K/head. For Gangtok u can do it yourself. If u wanna visit Changu lake & Nathula pass u got to book atleast 3-4 days in advance, our hotel owner told us that Nathula pass was being bombarded by tourists this year. |

July will be fullscale monsoon. Beware of landslides, especially in the North Sikkim route.

Yes full blown monsoon in the mountains during July. North Sikkim tour is not recommended. Even Darjeeling will be very wet and not good mountain views.

I would also agree that July is not the best time to visit sikkim because you don't know when which road is going to be closed because of a landslide which are very frequent during monsoons.

or not, if I were in that or a similar situation again, considering that there would be more to it than sightseeing,
