Exclamation Need some Urgent Help - accomodation in Lungthung

hello all
Can anyone please help me about some detailed information on Lungthung accomodation. As per my readings in different Indiamike thread, Lungthung is very near to Sunrise point(4 KM distance), compared to Dzuluk(18 KM from Sunrise point). There seems to be one option available in Lungthung - Lungthung Eco Retreat. Anybody stayed there, how is it? Anyone have any local contact number, of those who maintains that homestay. What's the cost per head per day for fooding lodging...

The other option we have thought is Palizor Homestay in Dzuluk, we need to wake up earlier and pay some extra for sunrise point trip I guess... Can anyone provide any comparison among these 2..

Waiting eagerly for your help!!!

Many thanks

Thanks very much Sovon, for your help. Though I couln't able to find out any direct contact of Lungthung from the links
I searched mad in all the travel mags of my collection, got one number . Couldn't recah out to this person because of mobile network issue, called at least 100 times
Also, got some help from some facebook friend of my friend. But this person also couldn't help much arranging accommodation , he seemed like some travel agent of gangtok.

Just listing down the numbers, if these come to help for future tourists:
Lakpa Bhutia(seemed like person from Lungthung villege) : 96478 50075
Bijoy Subba (reference from Tour Planner magazine) : 91534 22908

Later, I had a talk with Dilip Tamang(Sillery gaon- famous). He suggested not to stay at Lungthung because of lack of facilities. keeping in ming Dilip-ji's reputation, I have decided not to stay at Lungthung. I've booked palizor homestay of Dzuluk.

Thanks very much to all writers of Indiamike... specially Ruchira and Amit-da, without their suggestion, it would be tougher to arrange all in this short span of time!!

I have been going through the thread and gathered sufficient information, thanks to all the posts, to visit the place this winter.
Actually, I am planning to go to Zuluk in the first week of January (2014).

I have a couple of questions:

1. Will I be able to go upto Gnathang Valley and Kupup Lake then? I am planning to stay in Gnathang Valley (Dafter Bungalow)
2. Will I be able to go to Changu Lake and travel all the way to Gangtok? Or should I have to return to Zuluk after visiting Kupup Lake or Menmecho Lake?

Hello ! I just returned from Old Silk Route yesterday. I want to share my experience ( good & bad) in this forum. My tour plan was like that.
10th OCT. - Journey start from Esplanade by Royal Cruiser bus. At 7 pm..
11th OCT. Siliguri by 7 AM and to Sillery Gaon.
12th OCT. Stay at Sillery Gaon.
13th OCT. to Zuluk.
14th OCT. to Nathang Valley
15th OCT. to Gangtok via Changu lake.
16th OCT. stay at Gangtok.
17th OCT. Return journey start from NJP.by Padatik Exp.

On 8th Oct. Royal Cruiser called me over phone that their all buses to Siliguri were cancelled due to bad road condition. This is a bolt from the blue to me. Somehow I managed Tatkal ticket of Shatabdi Exp on 11th Oct. So I could only reach at Sillery Gaon on 12th ,instead of 11th .I informed my change of plan to Dilip Tamang who will conduct my old silk route tour from NJP to Gangtok drop. I agreed to pay him Rs. 23500/-all inclusive for 4 persons.
Dilip Tamang sent driver Manikumar to pick us from NJP.As Shatabdi Exp. reached NJP at 22-45 hrs. we stayed 11th Oct. night at Tirupati Lodge in NJP. Manikumar picked us early in the morning. As we reached Sillery Gaon we were overwhelmed by the serene beauty of the place. Dilip Tamang and his family greeted us with smiling faces and escorted us to a nice cottage. I was biting my nail thinking that here I could stay only one night instead of two as I originally planned. Next day Tamangji introduced me with a young driver Nima Galpo who will accompany us all three days upto Gangtok. After breakfast I paid all amount to Tamangji. He wished me a nice silk route tour. He took 21000/- instead of 23500/- for one day less. After reaching Rangli, where one could get permits , driver Nima told us he could not accompany us. He would give us another driver. We talked to Dilipji over phone. He said sorry for that . New Driver Kalam Ali took charge of us. As he proceeded towards Zuluk, at first check post our sumo was refused to go ahead by police. The reason was permit was made in the name of driver Nima Galpo. But our driver was Kalam Ali. We had to go back to Rangli again ( 5 KM down). But there police refused to do any change and advised to make new permit. It was aleady 5 pm. I thought our tour was cancelled. I phoned Tamangji telling him about our situation. He apologised me for this inconvenience. He sent Dilip Prodhanji to solve the problem. Dilipji went to police station and solved everything. He also apologized for everything.
Sun had already gone and we started for Zuluk in the dark. It was another experience to have a car journey at night in the hilly road. We reached Zuluk at 7-45 pm. Namgyal Bhutia, popularly known here as JK, received us at Zuluk. At night we could not see anything except that the cottage was 1 km above from zuluk village at the end of a nice valley and the place was very remote, very calm and quite. Hospitality of JK and his mother made us forget all the troubles we faced.
In the next morning we had several setbacks. First we woke up to find that it was raining and raining. Second the driver Ali informed us we could not go Gangtok via Kupup and Changu. We will go to Kupup and return back to Nathang. Will stay there and then go to Gangtok through downside road. Reason behind it was the car has road permit only upto Kupup not beyond that.I called Dilipji. He only beg apology for that. Thirdly, JK told us Dilipji informed him that the cottage booking for us at Nathang was cancelled.. So we had to stay the second night in Zuluk. I tried to talk to Dilipji, but he did not receive my call. It was not that Zuluk was not nice to stay for 2 days. In fact I loved the calmness of the valley with its virgin beauty. I would love to stay there one week under the care of JK’s mom, our Auntyji. But it was mindset that we will stay at Nathang and go to Gangtok through upside road made us despair. We went for side tour. As it was raining continuously we could not see the Mighty Kanchanjungha after Sillery gaon. Suddenly on the way to baba mandir and Kupup we found to our joy snowfall. We stopped and got off the car. We were jumping . laughing , shouting like chidren. Why not? In my 45 years of age I was enjoying first snowfall. Gradually all roads and valleys were covered with white paint. At Kupup driver Ali informed it was risky to go Nathang as the road was slippery. So we returned to Zuluk. We found snowfall at the cost of Nathang. Rain was not leaving us. Next day we left for Gangtok from Zuluk. In Gangtok we stayed in a nice hotel ,Hotel Pandim, in the upper Gangtok overviewing the Gangtok valley. Nextday we woke up and what a surprise waiting for us ! The mighty Peak was peeping through our hotel window. We took so many snaps of changing colours at dawn. We returned from Old silk route tour gaining some and loosing some. But one question is teasing me continuously. I knew before this tour that people of hill region are always simple, honest, truthful. I experienced that in Garwals, Kumayun region, in sikkim also. It is very painful to believe that so gentleman and cordial mannered Dilip Tamangji betrayed me by providing a car which had no road permit to upper road through silk route and by not providing stay at Nathang.though he took money for that. ( I heard from other source that he had booked cottage in my name but gave it to other tourist forcing me to stay second day at zuluk., for what reason , I don’t know)
