offbeat trip to Sikkim with my WagonR

Hello this is going to be my first post in this forum. I would like to have certain information about my next tour which I am planning to Sikkim.
First of all I would like to state that I will be driving my WagonR from Kolkata to Sikkim. Are there any issues to enter Sikkim with private car?
How is the road condition there?
To be very specific I would like to cover only very few palaces this time. I am looking forward to visit Pelling / Rabangla / Rinchenpong and Nathula.
I will be going around the next weekend, i.e. 27th September to 3rd October. This might be a pick season so I would like to know which one of the above stated places I should opt for a calm and quiet stay.

Tour plan is somewhat like this:
1 day stay at Siliguri
2 days stay at Pelling / Rabangla / Rinchenpong
2 days stay at Gangtok out of which one day trip to Nathula.
1 day stay back to Siliguri
back to Kolkata.

Please help me out to choose the best plan and please let me know hotel information.
Please keep in mind that I will be driving my WagonR throughout the trip. So please let me know the details about permit if any I need to check out.
