Around 4-5 soldiers were bought to the Aritar D.B which was a health camp in those days. Those soldiers died there and were later buried without proper rituals bieng performed. Since then, this place has seen many care takers die under mysterious circumstances until mid century when a church was set up nearby by some christian missioneries. It is also said that in 2003, the grave of those soldiers were located while some excavation was going on. Someone suggested to make a cemetry in honour of those soldiers and it has been done.
However, I myself do not believe that anything as such exists there. But what I've heard is that many people who have stayed there, have fallen ill strangely.
I myself would like to try it out for a night atleast
Hi....

Interesting story, I think I must try there for atleast one night.

A trek to Jhandi Danra from Soreng. One gets to see various species of flowers and birds. Soreng is in west sikkim and is about 3 hrs. drive from pelling and 4 hrs. drive from Melli.though i hv nt been to this place myself.

Welcome to IM and the family of Sikkim lovers, Kalyan

May we know what all places you've been to? That might help us in suggesting you an ideal destination.

You can go to Singling, which is 2 kms from Soreng (4-4.5 hrs drive from Siliguri). This is a small village on a hillock, from where you can get a great view of whole North Sikkim range. The main concept here is of village stay in eco tourism cottage. The kind of hospitality is awesome, which includes great food (both veg & non veg, and also tea made from leaves of adjacent tea garden owned by the same person). This place is ideal for couples. There are many options like village walk, bird watching, short trek to nearby Sherpa village. Many trek routes like Hiley-Barsey, Dzongri- Gochela etc are also accessible. Also one can go to Kaluk or Ringchenpong, which is only 1 hr drive from here.
