North Sikkim Tour

I propose to visit Gurudongma Lake,Lachen,Lachung & Yumthang valley this October.
A certain travel agent has give us a package for Rs 20000/- for 7persons, inclusive of everything for a 2nights/3 days package.

They have written that they will be putting us up at Hotel Apple Valley at Lachung & Hotel Hidden Hill at lachen for the two nights.
I have two queries-
1)Is the rate reasonable?
2)What is the standard of these two hotels? Are these worth staying overnight?

Will someone please help me with the Names & Email IDs of reputed travel agents who arrange such type of tours?

With regards
Bijon

Bijon,
I went there this May, 6 people cost 19K for 2N/3D package. In Noth Sikkim there are only villages, so cant expect much when it comes to accomodation. Just be sure you get good rooms with clean toilet facilities, cant expect more...

I stayed in Hotel Sinlochu lodge in Lachen & Hotel Fortuna in Lachung. Hotel Fortuna is very new & good with Cable TV, phone etc.. also great food

Prabir Sen(94340 24070) was our agent.

Not sure about the hotels.. most hotels (as already stated) and just equipped enough.. dont expect luxury.. well, the point is you should be going there to stay away from luxury for a while

The price is just fine.. pay the driver another 1500 or so, when you are at Yumthang.. he will take you to zero point.. its worth every penny!!

Have fun!

yeah usually they ask some amount as advance, depends on the agent. My guy asked for around 40% as advance, negotiated & paid 20%, no problems...

Hi Sujoy,

can you pass me contact number of your travel operator? I am planning a trip of north sikkim for 3 days 2 nights exclusively for 2 of us. Is it better to prebook or go there and search.

DeepPavi,
After eating food all kinds of Indian food, so rich in spices and taste, I found the Sikkim food to be bland. Well taste buds do differ from person to person

There's a wealth of info in other Sikkim threads as well, going through them will give you a good idea. Since you have a lot of questions, try putting them in a new thread.
