North Sikkim tour itinerary

Hi,

The following are the quotes that I have got from Yaknyeti for my North Sikkim trip, in the first week of November. This package is for 2 people travelling in a reserved car. Please let me know if this is fine, or I need to ask for any changes to it.

****************************** ************************
Quote:
Day 1: Depart for Lachen from Gangtok. You will be picked up by a Maruti Van to meet up your jeep at the Jeep stand. Sightseeing of Seven sister falls, Bhim Nala (falls) - lunch on the way at Phodong. Arrive Lachen. Check in hotel. Evening free. Early dinner. Stay O/N.

Day 2: Early morning after morning tea start a long but adventurous jeep safari from Lachen to Gurudongmar Lake situated at 17, 300 feet. On the way stop at Thangu Lachen for tea and light breakfast. It is believed that Guru Padmasambhawa – mediated by this lake while his journey to Tibet to preach Buddhism. Return back to Lachen. Drive to Lachung. Stay O/N.

Day 3: After breakfast an excursion to Yumgthang valley and Shingbha Rhododendron sanctuary and Hot spring. While returning back you can take a dip at the hot spring, which is Suppose to be of medicinal value. Return to Lachung for Lunch .After Lunch / Drive to Gangtok and drop. (Tours Ends)

Pl. Note: Permit for Katoa is not given officially but the drivers mange to take the tourist at their own risk. So Katoa and zero point are not included in the itinerary. However the driver can arrange this trip for you at some additional cost.

v. Expenses of personal nature such as Telephone, laundry, alcoholic beverage and tips.
vi. Boots, gloves, Jacket, room heater.
vii. Gangtok Hotel Accommodation.

I read a post on the net, which recommends going to Lachung and then Lachen to minimize the chances of altitude sickness. However, Yaknyeti has sent me this itinerary. Will altitude sickness be a factor if we decide to go ahead with this plan? Also, is the rate quoted reasonable? Please let me know.

Also any reviews on Apple valley in Lachung? Couldn`t find details on the net.

I have also got a quote from Blue sky and this is what they quote -

****************************** *********************
Quote:
Day 1: GANGTOK TO LACHEN
Pick from Gangtok Hotel around 9.00am and transfer to Lachen (128 Kms / 05 -6 hours). On the way visit Tashi view point, Kabi Longtsok, Seven sister’s water fall Singhik view point, Lunch, tea on route. Dinner and night stay at Hotel Lachen View Point.

Day 2: LACHEN TO GURUDONGMAR LAKE AND LACHUNG
Early at 5 am, proceed towards to Gurudongmar Lake. On the way at Thangu Valley have breakfast and visit ~ Chopta Valley ~ Gurudongmar Lake and drive back to Lachen and have lunch and after lunch departure for Lachung. Dinner and night stay at Lecoxy Resort

day 3: LACHUNG TO YUMTHANG AND LACHUNG
After breakfast tour proceeds toward Yumthang Valley, Yumesamdong (Zero point). On the way visit the Hot Spring and Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary and come back to Lachung, have lunch after lunch departure for Gangtok

For the above mention itinerary it would cost Rs.21600/- for Inclusive of all applicable taxes, all meals, accommodation, permit and exclusive transportation with Mahindra Max/ Sumo Victa from Gangtok to Gangtok.
****************************** *************************

Please let me know, which would be the better deal?

Regards,
Ashok
