North Sikkim Tour- Help needed

Hi!, I am Kaushik Das from Jamshedpur, new to indiamike. I am planning to visit North Sikkim by Novemeber 1st half. I have skeched out a somehow schedule for the trip.... Need your suggestion.. also I would like to to know what are the costs for th trips post-gangtok.

Here is my proposed schedule
Day -1
• Train to Howrah from TATA (ISPAT), reach HWH at 7:30 pm max
• Move to SDAH/KOL Stn. Dinner, Train TO NJP at 10 pm- 11pm
Day- 2
• Reach NJP by 8-8:30am; Move to Siliguri by Auto; Breakfast at Siliguri
• Reach Gangtok from SIliguri by Jeep by 12 pm; stay at Gangtok or visit nearby
• Book a North Sikkim Package tour

Day- 3 – 5

North Sikkim Tour ( 2N/3D)

Day 03 : Gangtok to Lachen, Halt.

Transfer from Gangtok to Lachen via Tashi View Point, Seven Sister Falls, Naga Falls.Lunch at Namok.Zero/Phodong wayside restura. High tea at Chungthang and contine to drive to Lachen,Dinner and halt.


Day 04 : Lachen – Thangu – Chopta Valley-Gurudongmar Lake – Lachen to Lachung.

Drive early to Thangu and breakfast at local joint.. continue to drive to Gurudongmar via Chopta Valley.Return to Lachen for Lunch and continue to drive to Lachung, Dinner and Halt.


Day 05 : Lachung – Yumthang Valley via Hot spring-Lachung to Gangtok

Drive early to Yumthang Flower Valley after breakfast, Continue to visit Hot Spring and drive back to Lachung for lunch and onward drive to Gangtok. Reach Gangtok in evening. Stay at Gangtok


Day- 6
• From Gangtok to Nathu La via Tsngmo Lake- Whole day- Return to Gangtok by evening
Day-7
• Rumtek Monastery early Morning & Rest of day Gangtok Sightseeing + shopping
Day- 8
• No plans in first half; Move to NJP after Lunch
• Train from NJP to HWH at 9pm
Day- 9
• Reach HWH by 7:00 am
• Train to TATA @ 5:30 pm
• Reach TATA @ 10:00 pm

Can Anyone suggest me about how to book a shared trip of 2n/3d for North sikkim? Is it better to pre-book or to book once we reach gangtok. ? IF the latter, then what are the rates? are the accomodation options good???

Your itinerary is ok and it's good that you have at least half day extra (Day 8) which will be helpful.

For Lachung-Lachen-Gurudongmar-Yumthang, I can say that it'll be better to book the trip at Gangtok, actually they offer it as a package and charge accordingly- so rates will vary depending on your destinations/stay/car requirements etc. You can talk to 2-3 Travels agents there and compare. Accommodation options are not of first class quality... but not bad. There are moderate arrangements and adequate services.
