2nd-Gangtok to Nathula-Baba Mandir-Tsomogo lake
3rd-[Yumthang/Gurudongmar tour]-Gangtok-lachung(night stay)
4th-Lachung-Yumthang-Yumsedong-lachen(night stay)

6th-Lachen-Darjeeling(instaed of Gangtok)

Please advice if we can visit direct to Darjeeling instead of Gangtok?

What will be the cost of this above itinenary?

As you didnt mention the month (its important) of traveling, its tough to suggest.......Well! I cant say its impossible, if you are first timer to N Sikkim, its not recommended

Thanks for your reply..
I'll visit end of Oct 2012.

You have mentioned the cost would be around rs.2500 per head for Yumthang and Gurudongmar tour.
Is it included vehicle cost and lachen/lachung accomodation.I want to take Mahidra jeep exclusive for us(two people) not in shared basis. Can you please seggregate the cost vehicle cost and accomodation cost?

I recently visited north sikkin.. We have followed itinerary same as yours just Gurudongmar lake before going to yumthang. Please also note that its bit hectic from your itinerary. Also if you are going to yumthang also include zero point which is worth. We travelled entire sikkim by ourselves just for N. Sikkim we have taken package of 14500 from fortuna which includes all meals, transport, hotel stay. For N. Sikkim its advisable to take package as otherwise its difficult to manage

Hi Bappa!!

As Pkanti has already suggested, I would second him. You'll be putting too much stress on yourselves as well as the Driver.

Instead, you can just modify your plan a bit and that shall do it for you. Like on the 5th after covering Gurudongmar, you can easily leave for Gangtok the same day as Gurudongmar should be over by first half of the day comfortably and moreover, there is'nt anything much to do in Lachen during the second half of the day. Instead, you can spend the night at Gangtok, and then leave from Gangtok to Darzeeling the next day (6th) morning. This way, you wont waste any extra time, and also save some money by reducing your time at North Sikkim.

As for Budget, Pkanti has also covered that part. I would just add that in North Sikkim, the packages vary a lot, all depending on the kind of hotels you opt for, and the time of your visit. October will be peak season as it's holiday season in nearby Bengal. I would suggest you to first reach Gangtok, stroll on the M.G marg, do some negotiations with the travel agents there, and then go for it.

Hope it helps
Everything is funny, as long as it's happening to someone else!!

Just a few points:-
1) Nathula remains open for tourists on Sunday.
2) NJP to Gangtok vehicle should cost you between 1500-2000. But given the time of your travel, it may well be above 2500-3000.
3) Gangtok to Nathula-Baba Mandir-Tsomogo lake should cost you approx 5K. But again, this may go up given the peak season.
4) You've planned to visit Darzeeling on 2nd.and leave on 3rd. So what's the purpose of visit? I dont think you'll get to see much other then Tiger hill on 3rd. Better to stay at Gangtok and do a day long site seeing. But again, it's your personal choice.

Rest, it looks ok.
