North East Vaccinations

Hi all

I'm going to India for a month in October, I'm going to be in Sikkim, Arunachal Paradesh and Nagaland.

Does anyone know which vaccinations I should get? What about Malaria pills?
Its my seventh(!!) time in India but first time in this region, I usually get Hep A, Hep B, Typhoid and Tetanus shots

Thanks and have a great day
Keren

At school, just before the exams, they used to drum into us, "Read the question: it doesn't matter how brilliant your answer is if it answers the wrong question!"

Very true.

Sikkim is not a malaria prone state due to it' altitude though Arunachal and Nagaland are. You will be travelling at the fag end of the malaria season so I guess there is not much reason to worry. Also in Arunachal and Nagaland most places have a mosquito net over the bed, which is the best way to pervent malaria.

In any case the medical fraternity itself is divided over the efficacy of anti malaria pills. So I would not recommend them. Though it would be nice to carry something like Deet which you can apply over your skin.
