3) Do any of our Voyageurs have any idea about any tour agency who can execute this plan, efficiently and economically ?

4) I have checked flight rates from chennai to bagdogra, for the month of October, but its very expensive on October, why ?? even its very cheap for the next 2/3 months. am not getting the reason why its expensive on october compared to July and august ??

On day 3 you may reach Gangtok instead of going back to Zuluk again , no need to travel through the same stretch of the same road on three consecutive days. Rest of planning looks fine But planning to visit Sikkim would be a bit speculative at this moment. An indefinite strike is going on in Darjeeling & Kalimpong hills. Road to Gangtok from Bagdogra that passes through these hills was blocked several times during the last one month. Same situation may prevail in October also. So plan accordingly.

October is a peak season for Darjeeling & Sikkim due to Puja vacation in West Bengal. So flight rates to Bagdogra usually remain high for Oct-Nov each year.

Weather will be pleasant in Gangtok. Nights would be pretty cold in North Sikkim. You may get a few patches of snow in Zero point and in Gurudongmar.

But given the current political unrest in whole Darjeeling district, I guess visit to Sikkim is also quite uncertain.

I have just cancelled a Bhutan trip, upon the advice of a local police officer who is predicting further escalation. I can do without the anxiety.

Hmm.... I was planning Silk Route during end of Oct.... Seems I have to cancel as well..
We Kolkatans had this convenience of traveling North Bengal and Sikkim with a minimum travel time.... Now that's going off, at least for this year.
I envy Delhites, as they have Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and HP within their vicinity.... And also J&K to some extent.

I had already posted my views on this thread. Leave the Gorkhaland issue, Doklam is another point of concern right now. Some really tensed moments on Sikkim- China front & situation there ( Nathula & around ) is not favourable to tourism at present.

Then you have to pass by Kalimpong & Pedong areas. Still one and a half months to go. Please keep a close watch on latest developments.

Kamrup & Kanchenjunga are the only options available now for North Bengal . As far as I know, Saraighat will be on track from 14th Sep & some more trains will resume journey after 18 th Sep. So possibly before puja everything would be fine.
