Is October a good time to be in Sikkim,

Hi All,

Kindly share your views,

- is October a good time to be in Sikkim with family of 3 with a child of 8 yrs?
- plan to be in sikkim for 7-8 days, Kindly suggest the itenary.
- would you suggest to take a package tour from Gangtok to all the places of sikkim, or go by my own., if yes than suggest the best tour operators.

October is the season and considered to be a good time. We did it on our own and have a bias towards doing on our own

Even i do prefer to go on my own... but a friend of mine suggested that its better to go by package in Sikkim, as it would be difficult to locate the hotels.. & most of the visiter prefer to go by a package from gangtok to any places..

Can you please suggest as to how did u manage by you owns.

Its indeed a good time.ive been there couple of times.But u should know where u wanna go & what u want to see. Bcos Sikkim is spread out like any other Hill Station. To name a few r Pelling, Rawangla, Gangtok, & many others. Further u r travelling with kids, so u obviously dont wanna hike around... All the best rockwater2@rediffmail.com

2 days Pelling, 1 dAy Rawangle optional. 5 days Gangtok. Make it the base... & frm here u travel to Gurudongarmar 2 days & 1day Youngthan Valley , NAthulla Pass. Couple of nice things to see in Gangtok & back on ur last day
