Dear friends,

We (the Indiamikers) are planning for a East Sikkim ( comprising Sillery, Pedong, Reshi, Aritar, Dzuluk and then Gangtok) trip in Oct-Nov 2012. Me, Sagarneel, Beas, Style-guru, Ruchira (everybody along with family including kids) and Mithun (of course he is there, either single or double !!) are already on the boat....
who else wants to join us????
Any Sikkim lovers are welcome... provided they love the raw nature of Sikkim... and eager to sacrifice the resorty comforts to stay in a basic homestay just to enjoy the nature...you should have it in your heart and enjoy... thats the main criteria...
The date has not been finalized yet… but we are thinking it to be including the Diwali holidays… We are also open if anyone wants to make the trip a bit longer such as Phalung/ North sikkim... Any input regarding the places (or any other off beat place nearby) and relevant informations will be higly appreciated… we need detail inputs….

Looking forward to a grand IM get-together...
If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun

Okay...so this thread has been created!! Thanks Amitda..the Dzongu thread was getting way off-topic with this discussion. As I mentioned previously, I am game. Looking forward to meeting up with everyone and travelling together.

However, as a word of cation, I have a bad habit of talking non-sense..so travel with me at your own risk

Apologies! I was considering Ranchi the (unfortunate) way it is normally considered. It definitely is a great place if one talks about travelling there.

@Sagar ,

Lets not deviate from this IMers meet in East Sikkim next year. However, we can plan to have a separate trip to Kasmir/Ladakh as well. I am dying to go to Ladakh. How about a motorbike trip from Manali to Ladakh? Or a tour to Kashmir Valley including Zanskar? Or a trip to ArP? Or Kinnur , Lahul , Spiti? Or a easy hike to Muktinath including Pokhara? Or a trip to ChandraTaal and Sach Pass ? Or Garhwal ? or Kumaon? All of these are in my "Highest priority To Do" list. So we can plan a separate trip, and , in most of the cases I would love to be your cotraveller.

Thanks
Mithun

Thanks for understanding. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings with my words.

All the places you mentioned are in my 'To Do' list as well. I have covered a bit of Garhwal and Kumaon, but Ladakh/Zanskar/Kashmir have been in my radar for quite a while now. I was watching Roja the other day, and the intent of visiting Kashmir has grown stronger after that

So, after the upcoming Sikkim trip in October, I have 2 more planned trips in early 2012...a small trip to Garhwal in Jan/Feb (Deoria taal, Chopta, Kartik Swami temple) and a trek in April/May (me and Subhajit, a fellow IMer with nickname paglaghora were toying around with quite a few ideas the other day - Ha ki dun, Madmaheshwar, Roopkund, Tapovan....and even started talking of EBC ). In case the tour to East Sikkim seriously gets on in October, I will cancel the plan to Kashmir. We can, in that case, plan Kashmir + Ladakh the next year.
