Hi Dejani,
Welcome to India Mike. The most popular trek in Sikkim is "Goecha la". It starts from Yuksom, Sikkim. http://www.google.co.in/search?hl=en&q=goecha&meta= We did it without operators but with guide cum porter. “can u buy food along the treks?” – just an example, we had to wait till the next stream to collect drinking water through out the rout. I can understand it is a part of the game but you just CANNOT DEPEND on the food, which will be purchased on the way. You must carry sufficient food with you. To arrange this trek, my experience says, Gantok will be the best. Thease may give you an idea (though someone may experience something different): Dzongri-Goechala (Sikkim himalaya) trek Sikkim in March - Somnath |
