I have 2 nights in Lachung-what can I see?

I have 2 nights in Lachung-what can I see?

Help.5 of us will be touring Sikkim in June and 2 nights will be in Lachung.Will arrive from Gangtok in evening ,stay overnight,spend the next day and night and leave the following morning back to Gangtok.Can we be able to visit Gurudongmar,Zero point and Katao with the time available?

yes you would be able to...make sure you start early in the morning :
1. Reach lachung, take rest..its 5-6Hrs journey from Gangtok
2. Visit Katao have lunch then Yumthang & Zero point and head to Lachen. Stay overnight
3. Visit Gurudongmar lake & back to gangtok...you will reach Gangtok by 8.

Thanks Prash81

This is part of a 10 night tour and we are booked for Lachung 2 nights.So we cannot stay over in Lachen.We have to be back to Lachung for the 2nd night.Is this doable?

Hi Duke,

Yes, u can take good package from Gangtok for Gurudongmar, Chopta Valley. Its better u stay 1 night at Lachung & other night at Thangu.

Its doable but very hectic you will have to travel a lot through out the day. Try to modify your reservations, & see if the same hotel has any hotel in Lachen? or ask them to book a hotel for you in Lachen....atmost they may charge you few bucks extra.

Actually our itinerary is:Kalimpong 1N – Gangtok 3N – Lachung 2N – Pelling 2N – Darjeeling 2N.Will I still able to do this since we will be in GANGTOK 3N?Will we have any problems visiting Gurudongmar?We are all indians but 2 of us are from USA and the others are from India-2 adults and 3 teenagers.Also my first visit to India.

I guess u dont need to worry, your operator would have taken care of Lachen trip, no operator recommends stay for 2N in Lachung. Try to get it confirmed from your operator.

And tehre should not be any problem as all of you are Indians or NRI.

Dear freind,

According to Sikkim Law,Indians cant travel with the foreigners in some part of Sikkim. So pls. be careful & confirm before coming.

Its horrible plan !!!! It will be bit tough to carry out your plan!

Plans have changed.Will be staying a night in Lachen to acclimitize and then to Lake Gurudongmar.

Thats right. This is the healthy plan, otherwise u would get sickness with ur earlier plan.
