Hi surya_sapui!
I cannot help you with Ravangla hotels as I have always stayed at Pelling and covered Namchi-Ravangla from there itself. I have spent more than one Independence day in that area, and can say that on all occasions, found great difficulty in reaching Pelling due to landslides, starting from not finding any direct shared cabs to Pelling, to having to cross shooting stones on foot under severe Rains, to reaching Pelling fully drenched at around 9 PM at night, and finding most Hotels closed due to off season. However if you somehow change your heart & plan on staying at Pelling, I would recommend Hotel Phemrong at upper Pelling. Bargain hard as most of hotels remain almost vacant during this period. Carry Umbrellas for each member, along with some eateries as you may have to spend long hours in your vehicle due to sudden landslides, and you wont want to remain starved in middle of nowhere.
Just my 3 cents worth
I am only responsible for what I say, and not what you understand

Yes, Nathula is closed for tourists & the unconfirmed news says that villagers are now being evacuated from Gnathang Valley (25/30 Kms from Nathula ). So Avishek, for your Silk Route trip please keep tabs on the latest Doklam developments & take decisions accordingly .
