Hi,

I am planning for honeymoon in Sikkim after 10th Feb 2013. I've visited Indiamike.com,such a tremendous site.
I read travelog and various trip reports which are no doubt comprehensively explain every trivial detail.
Now I am unable to take decision to visiting various place as there are so many places to vist in Sikkim.
Pelling,Kalimpong ,Karseong,Manebhanjyan,Sandakp hu,Darjeeling(border of WB and Sikkim),Gangtok,Lachung,Lava,U ttarey, Pelling, Bermiok, Okhrey, Barsey etc

I am not very much sure for weather condition of Sikkim as various reports suggest north Sikkim become nearly frozen.
I am planning for 7D and 7N.
I would like to include snow fall, visit of some regional culture, blessing of monastery,if possible paragliding or river rafting.

Can we plan for north/south Sikkim or plan for south sikkim at the same time evaluate other alternative of Sikkim?
Can you please help me out for Itenary ?
Which location/place should be on top priority ?
Can you please suggest for transportation availability and preferable mode of transportation between public and private?
Cost of private transportation and availability of vehicle?
What budget should be consider for HOTEL with consideration of safety/security/privacy for lodging ?
Which Hotels Should consider for staying?
As we are veggie and teetotaler, what are regional food and available food?
Can you please add more location/sports/events which made it more memorable ?
Parlance of Sikkim, I am comfortable with English/Hindi ?
Does and Dont's ?
What should I allways prepare for in Sikkim ?
Are localize very friendly ?

Please suggest ...

Hmmm!!!!!

Before expert, my two cents:

Just keep eye in the progress of this thread for west Sikkim :
My Travel to Kaluk-Utteray-Pelling->Rabangla

Go through with any Sticky Thread in Sikkim forum but from start to end as you have enough time to plan your trip except the rail ticket.

Lightbulb

Hi all,

I am waiting for your responce , unfortunately it was not as expected.
Meanwhile, I've gone thorugh varios travel log and trip reports. So I can prepare my itenrnarry, as well.
I would like know, how many kilometer of distance I can complete in a day ,enjoy place and come back to lodging/hotel?
Which vehicle is preferred for trip as its hilly areas?
I am travelling in month of february '13, So there should be freezing cold ,snow fall and its hilly areas, too.

I would like to prepare tentative itenrniary as well alternative itearniary,as there are many place to visit and 7D/7N is not sufficient.
I would prefer to safe side and minimize risk .

I am planning for Gangtok/Kalingpong/Darjling .

Please suggest.

I find below links are very useful for planning ,Please also suggest if any other.

7 nights for Gangtok, Kalimpong and Darjeeling should be comfortable. I suspect these roads should be accessible even on a small car and 4 wheel drive vehicles are not needed. There is no set rule on how many kilometers you can do in a single day. It depends on terrain and conditions. Read through the itineraries to get a better idea on travel time between various points.

Obiviuolsy, Its very much depend upon various thing for completion of distance in day.My simple word
meaning is that if weather is good and every other thing is fine , then how many kilometer i can travel, approx idea?
Somebody said to me, if condition is normal in Gangtok and Kalimpong , its not possible to travel and come back 100 KM (inclusive both way-going and coming back).
Assuming normally circumstance,In one hour, how many KM can a four wheeler is travel?(Pls, don't say its totally depend upon speed,no offence please ).
I will prefer to go via 4 wheeler and would like to either hire (prefer)or shared basis.
Thanks

Day 1: njp/bagdogra move to Darjeeling n/s
2: Darjeeling (sightseeing) n/s
3: Darj to Gangtok n/s
4: Gangtok sightseeing n/s
5: Gangtok to pelling n/s
6: pelling (leisure)
7: pelling sightseeing n/s
8: pelling to njp/bagdogra

This is a primitive itinerary that I've proposed. Let us know , the areas where you like the changes. There could be many. If you've already prepared one, then also, let the others know........more useful suggestions are likely to come .
