Gangtok..should I go?
I've heard mixed reviews of Gangtok...the photos I've seen look gorgeous and I understand it is amazingly clean place...
if you have been, pls share your experiences and tips so I can decide whether to put it on itinerary this trip!
thanks!

Sikkim in general is beautiful. Gangtok is a nice town (and yes, pretty clean), but it's small and there's not all that much to see or do there for more than a day or so. Include it in a larger itinerary - e.g., as a jumping off point for a trip up to North Sikkim - but don't make it the focus of your trip.

ok thx for replies...good to know
Travelling Gantok is just the next best thing to happen in one's life.Or let me be more specific North Sikkim for that matter.Taking some days off from our busy life, away from the din and bustle of hectic city life, spending a lifetime worth moment in the lap of the mystic himalayas is very fascinating!Believe me i have travelled to Canada in winters where 12 to 14 inches of snow make ur life so miserable coz therez hardly labourers to shovel up the snow. But here if u go up the upper terrains of North sikkim,u will find snow like layers of ice-cream(especially in lachung, yumthnag in the winter months)spread across and sparkling clean roads that winds up the way. There are army regimnets high up there which is why u find roads clean n risk free to drive. We have been there twice now nad again going this late december with my in-laws as well.
I just can't wait 4 more long months.........
U can definately include it in ur itinerary this trip.We hope to meet if ur travel dates coincide with ours.
Have a happy trip
