Hi Guys

After reading lots of article on gangtok and pelling, i have made
my itinerary. and i am sharing it here to verify if it's ok or
not...

First of all we are 4 people( and its a family tour). our tour
length will be 1 week( 6 Day/ 5 Night). i am not going with a
travel agent as their packages are not fulfilling my desires.

GANGTOK (3 Day) Pelling (2 day) :

Day 1:

1. reaching NJP at around 8 am

2. breakfast and off to Gangtok by a exclusive car

(Qn 1 : present Rate for exclusive car ?)

3. reaching gangtok at noon. rest

4. Ganesh tok or hanuman tok, this afternoon by cab

(Qn 2: is it possible to hire a cab for this up-down
journey and charges for this 1 only?)

5. overnight @hotel at MG marg

Day 2:

1. Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir by shared car (all day) if possible Nathu la Pass

(Qn 3 : i am still confused about the permit. when and
where should i apply for it ? and if i book the tour from
hotel then who will arrange the permit?)

2. explore MG marg at evening

Day 3:

1. local sight seeing
Handi crafts and Handlooms Exhibition
Namgyal Institute of Tibetology
flower / orchid show
zoological park
Banzakhri Falls
Tashi View Point

(Qn 4: pls suggest me proper timing for these sight
seeing, one after another. we will start @ 9 am so which points
are available and best for early morning session?)

2. rope-way afternoon

3. shopping @ MG marg evening

Day 4 :

1.roomtek monastery
(Qn 5 :how much time it takes to come back to gangtok by
cab and is it available? Or is it a better option to leave
gangtok and stop for a while on the way to pelling @ roomtek )

2. early lunch around 11:00 am :P

3. to pelling by exclusive car

4. sunset from upper pelling

Day 5 :

local sight seeing ( 2 half)
Pemyangsy Monastery,
Rabdantse Ruins,
Kanchendongha Falls,
Rimbi falls,
Chhange Falls,
Khechiperi Lake,
Sinsore Bridge

Day 6 :

1. SanghaChoeling Monastery sunrise
2. breakfast and leave (x-car)
3. lunch @ NJP

please suggest me any other better
options if possible for family tour . And pls give me a little
idea about present rates of exclusive car from njp to gangtok,
gangtok to pelling and pelling to njp

I am somewhat confused. Will you please elaborate on what exactly you mean by the term "exclusive car"? Do you wish to have a super luxury car? In that case I am afraid your options are limited as expensive cars like beemers or mercs are not at all available for hire in those regions and you have to charter one from Calcutta. In case you wish to mean that you charter a whole car for your exclusive use, that is definitely very much available in Siliguri. Just contact any local travel operator there.

@ rahul89

Q1: as you are only 4 heads, a small car'll be best .........cost Rs 1,100 to 1,500

Q2: Gangtok city has one of the best taxi service in India........you'll find taxi to that point.......Rs 100/150

Q3: is not complicated as you are thinking.........if you cant contact to a travel agent (there are hundreds around MG Marg area), ask your hotel manager.......but make sure Nathula opened on that day...........and exclusive car (no sharing) can be arranged for that trip paying extra

Q4: if you start after breakfast, you'll cath lunch at hotel...........Tashi View point/Hanuman Tok is best for watching sunrise

Q5: best you did it on day3........taxi available to go there......Rs 800
.

Totaly confused how to explore the beautiful earth when one life is too short to complete my great India

Thanx buddy
1. i am planning to hire a small car from NJP to gangtok.. but what about gangtok-pelling and pelling-NJP ?.. i don't know the road condition.. what is better for this road?
2. crystal clear thanx. so change of plan, we will go to ganesh tok hanuman tok @ sunrise
3. Ok got it.. what is the price range for exclusive car here ? and which type of car is good on this road? sumo bolero scorpio , any kind of suv?
4 & 5 . we are planning to spend some extra time @ zoo park, flower show, etc. can we hire a ex-car to pelling and make a detour to roomtek for some extra pay on the next morning? cause distance is 26km. thats time consuming.

1 roads are fine......any car you can hire for this portion........TATA Indica will not be a bad idea

2 there is another position to watch sunrise, if can manage to go there by early morning, its beside Sikkim Assembly

3 car price depends on car model/type you know ............ best car for the N Sikkim and Nathula Baba Dham portion is Mahindra Max.........but if you wanna comfort you try innova

4&5: Pelling via Rumtek is not a bad idea

so which is better?
via rabongla shortest path
via damthang which is also ending @ rabongla or there is a direct way from damthang to legship or pelling?
via namchi longest..
i guess
for me safer is better. i mean where traffic and road condition is good. then comes beauty
suggest me 1 way from gangtok to pelling
and 1 way from pelling to NJP (return)
so that we can cover most of it...
we have a full day ( return) in hand so time will not be a problem... for return path, i can see the road is via nayabazar( google map) or is there any other road we can go to spend our extra time
