Feedback from Sikkim trip in 22-28th jan

It was a memorable trip.....
the plan was::
22-- took the train
23rd--took a reserved Sumo(1200/-)and went to Gangtok..
24th-- Went for Lachung(850/- per head for Yumthang package.) we also booked the whole car(Mahindra Max)for 2000/- for only yumthang tour..
25th--Early morning we tried to go to Katao(1000/-for reserved car)...but failed due to excessive snow...
then we tried to go to Yumthang, again didn't able to reach yumthang valley again for a thick layer of snow.....
back to gangtok... at 7.45pm..
26th--went to Tsmogo(1500/- for reserved car)... and then went to pelling...
27th--took rest(bad weather) and then back to NJP..
-----Thanks everyone who helped me by giving the information..
and one thing i must say ""THREE CHEERS FOR INDIAMIKE""..

Yumthang package tour was excellent...The hotel they provided was equipped with geyser....and also food was excellent...

Hi Atanu,

Good to know that you had good time.I'm planning for a March 5th to 15th trip to sikkim.

I need some suggestions on hotel stay, can you suggest some good places to stay in gangtok?

Also i have got in touch with a tour operator and he suggested the following itenary

Nine Night Ten Days Package
> > 01 Day-Arrival at Air port or Railway Station and Transfer to hotel in Gangtok.Over Night at Gangtok.

> > 02 Day-Transfer to Lachen(North Sikkim).night halt at Lachen.

Hi Atanu,

I am planning a trip to Sikkim all on my own. Since I shall be travelling alone from DEL and this shall be my visit visit to Sikkim, could you please help me out with my itinerary. I shall be reaching Bagdogra on 25th Feb afternoon and from there....? I dont know. Can you suggest how the hotel accomodations are in Sikkim and if they are really safe and hygenic. Since I shall be out most of the times, I just need a decent place to lie down and a private washroom. I have a leave of 07days.

great that yu enjoyed the trip. am planning the thrip in first week of may. What are the best places the stay in Gangtok. I would look at a budget of 1000-2000Rs/day there with decent rooms. Also any sugestions to book the yumthang trip from gangtok. Any contacts there for the same. Also, any good places to stay in Lachung. Will Yumthang be good in MAy???
