buying winter clothing in gangtok

hi guys,

I'm coming from canada to india/SE asia in January for 4 months. All my travels will be in warm climates, with the exception of Sikkim (which I am visiting in mid-Jan.) Therefore, I would prefer not to bring winter jackets and warm clothing in my luggage, since I will only be using it in Sikkim. Will I easily be able to find some thick, heavyy clothing (relatively cheap) in Gangtok for my trip to North Sikkim? I will only have one day in Gangtok before leaving on our North Sikkim excursion

hi you can buy winter clothing in Gangtok itself, for your treks or for your tour to north Sikkim. if you have contacted any agent you may get the information from them . but it is little expensive comparing to Nepal . as you need just in Sikkim you could buy some local made jackets and what so ever you need and that is cheaper too .in Nepal you could had rented lots of things but Sikkim i am not quite so sure . but you may inquire . if you need some help do post your message here .
