Bhojanalay @ Gangtok?

hi people,

I know it is weird to ask, but is there any neat Bhojanalay in Gangtok? and Pelling?

[its the place where they serve North Indian Thali, with phulkas and sabzi]

Well ! there is a restaurant named 'Thalee' next to the Gandhi ji statue on MG Marg in Gangtok.

Nearby Golden Pagoda too is a vegetarian restaurant.

Thanks for the info Delhiwala, I think I will find some nice place in MG Road while I'm there!

meanwhile If some one knows more about an actual Bhojanalay please let us know here in the thread!

Thalee resturant, recommended by dehiwala must be good bhojanalay kind of thing,serving vegetarian thalis, you are looking for.Do you mean some thing else by actual bhojanalaya.

What is actual bojanalay .Are you looking for some good Marwari EatingHouse,serving good phulka made in chulaha stove and sabzi plus Yellow dal tadka with lot of desi ghee.Bit of rajasthani Kadhi and Basmati rice too.Salads and few chutneys.

I don't remember the actual name, not sure if its 'thalee' either. But there's indeed a rajasthani bhojanalay in a lane off MG Marg. I vaguely remember its name as sri Ganesh Bhojanalay or something! Not sure though!

A small lane on the right hand side near the Gandhi statue with some stairs to climb down takes you to the joint , which is almost at the end of the lane.

Should I have mentioned it as Rajasthani Bhojanalay? - Kadhi, Dhal, 2 or 3 sabzis, Chawal, Salads, Chutney, papad

- yeah this is what I was looking for!

- guess the above post is right, should go and hunt where they have it, i will post photograph and Name of the place after when I'm there!
