Yeah, I went to Sikkim and just fall in love

. I think you also enjoyed a lot in Sikkim. Please share your experience and if possible plz share your travel photographs. May be, the info provided by you may help someone who is planning to visit Sikkim.

Hi !

Anyone wanting to know anything about Sikkim just let me know. I am from Siliguri which is a 4 Hrs drive from Gangtok (Capital of Sikkim) !!

Sikkim is a paradise on earth and if you have not visited this beautiful paradise yet well then you have missed something special !

So go ahead and plan your next vacation out here !!

I am visiting Gangtok on 12th August. I want to know how to get a taxi to Gangtok from Baghdogra airport and how easy is it to get one. Also what is a decent fare from Baghdogra to Gangtok? I hope the people from Sikkim can help me(joy or san_dady).

You'll get Gangtok taxi waiting outsite Bagdogra Airport. I think they will charge you around Rs.800 to Rs.2000.

But for a single person, can come in daily service taxi. @ Rs. 100

Thanks san_dady. The range Rs.800 to Rs. 2000 is quite a swing. But I assume if I get a deal for Rs.1000 it is a good one. It will be 2 of us going by taxi.

Also, what is a daily service taxi? Why is it so cheap? I assume it is a like a shared taxi. Correct me if I am wrong.

You got it right too!

If you are only 2, then why waste money, take an Auto to SNT, siliguri (half hour). There you'll get all the 100 Rupees (shared cabs) to Gangtok, direct.

Thanks for your advice and the website.. It will save me some money. And I have already booked the hotel, but the website will help me gather useful information.

I must say indiamike is a very very useful point for gathering information when travelling around in India.
