Hi all! Can someone advise me on the chances of AMS on the Tsomgo Lake drive from Gangtok? I have 2 kids with me (8 and 5) and from what I see the ascent is rather too much too soon! Any advice?

If you go to Nathula, there might be some problem of altitude sickness (i hope this is what you mean by AMS). But Tsomgo is absolutely fine.

Thanks mousourik! Yup, acute mountain sickness is what i hv been reading up currently; just a tad worried about the kids. We've done tsomgo in 2003 and all was well. thanx for the happy words::

Recently I have visited Tsongo lake and found journey is enjoyable. Roads were also fine. We have seen tourist with small childrens and have no problems. Have woolen cloths or you can rent at Tsongo lake .You can avoid Nathula
